Areas of Expertise

Archives Program Establishment

Offering a free survey and estimate of your collection, we can help you establish basic policies and structures for effective retrieval and item tracking. We offer full rehousing of your collection and finding aids, to ensure the most logical storage solutions to facilitate the archives’ use.

Digitization

Collections are photographed or scanned to provide a digital record of their contents and extent of damage (if applicable). This is vital for inventory and insurance records, and for makingyour collection available online to a wider audience.

Web Hosting Coming Soon!

Soon, we will have a database to host your digital records on your behalf, for reference, searching and ease of access.

Documents

We have experience in handling documents up to 330 years old, in varying states of disrepair. UsingpH neutral conservation methods, we can reconstruct your document from fragments, stabilizing the structure for further handling needed to digitize and store.

Documentation

Most items in a collection are associated with acquisition paperwork, records of ownership, or a finding aid. If you need any of these, we can provide assistance in creating them. If you have a database for tracking items in your collection, we can perform data entry and other necessary data input to support it.

Photographic Media

MAP offers cleaning, rehousing, documentation and digitizing of photographic media- including slides and negatives. Images will be optimized for personal or web use, with services such as watermarks, resizing, or touch-up available.

Books

At our facility we offer cleaning, page mending, documentation and rehousing. We also work with the finest local bookbinders to provide binding repair and rebinding services.

We follow all AIC standards for material handling and repair, and guarantee that all items will be handled with care and diligence.
